Fall is here...

The air is chilled, the days are shorter, it's time...fall is here and we are ready for the holiday season to begin.  We've loaded up on fall and winter colors (see the Pantone colors for this season, we've got them all!) and we're ready to help you design your special holiday jewelry.  For events from family holidays to the New Year's Ball you'll be attending (you ARE, right???), we can design a piece that shows off your personality and style.

Our new classes are exciting too! We've held beaded ornament classes that were a HUGE hit, so we're offering them one more time before the season gets too far underway.  They're not hard to do, and I think you'll be super happy with the results!  They also make great gifts for that person that has everything. They are special enough to keep out all year round, in a window perhaps.  Pretty holiday chokers and earrings, as well as gift ideas are on the class calendar this month. Check them out and stop in the shop to see the examples!

Small Business Saturday is coming up, Saturday November 24.  Mark your calendars and make a commitment to shop all your local businesses, including restaurants, jewelry shops, clothing shops, antique stores, gift shops...we help build the commumity, we are your friends and neighbors, and we want to serve you!

New stuff!

There's so much to talk about, I don't know where to start.  We have lots of new things in the shop for sale, as well as a bunch of new class offerings.  We recently aquired a gorgeous lot of vintage beads from the late 1930's and early 1940's. A customer's mother had studied opera at Juliard, and was required to wear very formal gowns adorned with sequins and gorgeous beads.  The customer's grandmother sewed all her daughter's costumes herself, and kept all the extra beads and sequins, which were recently passed on to our friend. She knew we would love them and be able to find appreciative homes for these beauties, and I'm honored that she thought enough of us to pass them our way.  I've packaged them in smaller tubes and bags, while keeping some on the original hanks. The colors are stunning; blues, copper/brown, black, purples...and all sparkly!!

We've also begun a trip down domino lane...we've got dominos that have been drilled for purchase as is, plus some dominoes that were repurposed into  GORGEOUS pendants.  We're working on more, so stay tuned to learn about our latest trend-setting pendants...

The eyes have it...I've recently created some eyeballs out of plaster, wondered what the heck to do with them. I've wire-wrapped some for pendants, created a crazy sculpture with tons of wire eyelashes, and am working them into designs as we speak. They are different colors, some blue, some brown...you can request a specific color if you'd like!

Welcome to the new website for Soulshine Studio Bead Shop. We are located in the lovely Finger Lakes Region in the Gaffer District of Corning, New York.I am thrilled to be able to show off our products in a more pleasing manner. I also am glad to be able to provide a contact form and comment section in this blog to encourage more interaction with YOU!  I thank you all so very much for you support in the first year of business and would love to hear more from you.  My customers are my beading family and you all are very important to me.
